Op Hodenpijl ist ein Restaurant, eine Kulturkirche, ein Ort für Hochzeiten und Beerdigungen, ein Gesundheits- und Wellnesszentrum, ein Treffpunkt und ein lebendiges Landgut. In der ehemaligen Kirche finden intime Konzerte, Vorträge, Seminare, Hochzeiten und Beerdigungen statt. Die Gründer von Op Hodenpijl sind Dirk und Tilly Post, die 2004 die ehemalige Kirche und anschließend das Lagerhaus kauften und restaurierten. Op Hodenpijl öffnete 2007 seine Türen.

Im 13. Jahrhundert verband die Familie Hodenpijl ihren Namen mit einer Burg im Hodenpijl-Polder (heute Klaas-Engelbrechtspolder). Die Burg wurde 1351 im Haken- und Kabeljaukrieg zerstört.
Seit 1657 gab es auf Hodenpijl, an der „Schmalseite“ des Kerkpolders, eine geheime Kirche. Pater Gerardus Schade war der erste Priester, der sich nach der Reformation hier niederließ. In dieser Kirche heiratete der Delfter Maler Johannes Vermeer im April 1653 Catharina Bolnes.
