    Eine Burg mit einer phänomenalen Geschichte, die bis ins Jahr 1155 zurückreicht, als sie in einer Bulle von Papst Hadrian IV. erwähnt wurde.

    Eine turbulente Geschichte, wie immer! Sie wurde zunächst als Holzburg erbaut, doch Heinrich der Bärtige ließ sie zu einer Backsteinburg umbauen. Später wurde sie zu einer der schönsten Burgen im Gotik-Renaissance-Stil in Schlesien umgebaut.

    Die Lage der Burg auf einem Basalthügel ist wirklich wunderschön.

    Hier befindet sich auch das nördliche Ende (oder der nördliche Anfang) des Piasten-Burgenwegs. Ein schöneres Ende oder einen besseren Anfang dieses wunderschönen, historischen Wanderweges kann man sich kaum vorstellen.

    Auf der Burg gibt es eine kleine Gastronomie und man kann dort auch übernachten. Der Aufstieg über den Wanderweg ab dem Parkplatz ist etwas für Bergziegen. Heftig! Einfach ist die es die Straße zu nehmen, die hat nur 8 % Steigung.
