Katarina Church, known in Swedish as Katarina kyrka, is a prominent Baroque religious building situated on Pelarbacken hill in the Södermalm district of Stockholm, Sweden. Standing at an elevation of approximately 45 meters, this historic landmark is easily recognizable by its striking white facade and distinctive copper-green octagonal dome, which forms a notable part of Stockholm's skyline. 1723 wurde die Kirche in einem großen Brand, dem beinahe das ganze Katarinaviertel zum Opfer fiel, zerstört. Sie wurde unter der Leitung des Stadtarchitekten Göran Josuæ Adelcrantz (Vater des bekannteren Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz) wieder aufgebaut. 1990 brannte die Kirche erneut. Nahezu das gesamte Inventar wurde dabei zerstört. Nach dem Wiederaufbau, der etwa 280 Millionen Kronen kostete, wurde die Kirche 1995 wieder eingeweiht.
