    Archäologische Funde im Uferbereich des auf 992 m hoch gelegenen Bergsees legen nahe, dass es sich beim Forollsjøen in früherer Zeit um einen samischen Opferplatz gehandelt haben könnte. Heute ist der See auf Grund seiner reichen Forellenbestände ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel für Sportfischer.
