    Västervik im Nordosten des Smaland ist ein kleiner, aber attraktiver Badeort. Västervik ist zum einen bekannt für einen der besten Campingplätze Schwedens, aber auch für seinen siebzig Kilometer langen Küstenstreifen und rund 5.000 Inseln und Inselchen. Manche behaupten sogar, man findet hier die schönsten Schären Schwedens.
    Die Stadt präsentiert sich sehr gepflegten Holzhäusern mit Rosen davor. Es empfiehlt sich der Gang durch die Stadt, die Besichtigung dieser Holzhäuser, der acht kleinen Bootsmannhäuser, dem Hafen und der markanten Kirche.
    In der Touristeninformation ist u.a. ein deutschsprachiger Stadtführer: “Ein Spaziergang durch Västervik” erhältlich.
