    Borax (Salzmineralien) wurden in alten Seebetten abgelagert, die sich in das gelbe Ödland von Furnace Creek erhoben und erodierten und von Wasser in das Death Valley-Gelände getragen wurden, wo sie als Borax rekristallisierten.
    Jahrhundertelang wurde Borax für verschiedene wichtige Zwecke von Töpfern, Schmieden sowie Hausfrauen verwendet (😂 ....kein Scherz, wie auf einer der Ausstellungstafeln erklärt).
    Borax ist auch heute noch ein wichtiger Rohstoff zur Herstellung verschiedener Borverbindungen, die in der Glas- und Keramikindustrie (Glasuren, Emaille) und als Flussmittel zum Löten verwendet werden.
