    Der »Ohori Park« ist ein Stadtpark im Zentrum von Fukuoka mit einem großen Teich in der Mitte. Rund um den Teich gibt es einen mehr als zwei Kilometer langen Wanderweg, der zum Joggen und Flanieren am Wasser einlädt.

    Ohori bedeutet im japanischen Burggraben, der Teich in der Mitte des Parks diente einst als Teil des Burggrabensystems der benachbarten Burg Fukuoka. Der Park wurde zwischen 1926 und 1929 erbaut. In der Mitte des Teiches befinden sich drei Inseln, die durch elegante Steinbrücken miteinander verbunden sind.

    Dieser Ort war früher der Außengraben der Burg Fukuoka. Nachdem die Burg aufgegeben wurde, schlug die Regierung einen Renovierungsplan vor, bei dem der Graben aufgefüllt werden sollte. Sie beschloss jedoch schließlich, das Gebiet zu einem Park zu entwickeln und den Graben einzubeziehen. Der Park wurde 1929 eröffnet. Der Park soll nach dem Vorbild des Westlichen Sees von China angelegt worden sein, einer berühmten Sehenswürdigkeit in der Provinz Zhejiang.
