    Das Fort von Pietole ist ein militärisches Bauwerk, das 1808 vom französischen General François de Chasseloup-Laubat, dem Gesandten Napoleons, erbaut wurde.
    Im Ersten Weltkrieg diente die Festung als Lagerhaus, doch ein Brand am 28.04.1917 zerstörte einen Großteil des Pulvermagazins.
    Im Laufe der Zeit wurde die Festung verlassen und 1983 schließlich vom Militär aufgegeben. Heute ist sie tatsächlich verlassen.
