Located in Provence in the department of Var, the territory of Ramatuelle is separated from the rest of the canton of Sainte-Maxime by an arc of wooded hills which make it an isolated watershed. This territory includes two coastal plains, a shoreline of more than 16 kilometers made up of the vast beach of Pampelonne, other smaller beaches, and capes Camarat and Taillat (this one for half with the neighboring town of La Croix-Valmer ). The village, typical of defensive perched sites, rises on a foothill of the hill of Paillas at an altitude of about 130 meters south of Saint-Tropez. It dominates the bay of Pampelonne and the wine-growing plain.

Ramatuelle is a beautifully situated place near the coast on a hillside. It's especially nice to sit in one of the nice bars/pubs/restaurants along the main street and enjoy life.
If you're in the area by bike, you should do the climb from Port Grimaud via Gasin to Ramatuelle, past the old windmill and down the "coastal road" to Saint Tropetz and along the coast back to Port Grimaud - a wonderful route you can follow in my profile

Sightseeing bike tour with the destinations Pampelonne🏖️, Ramatuelle🌺 and Les Moulins de Paillas.
The start and finish of this small tour is Port Grimaud, on cycle paths (partly on a separate strip right next to the road) and on quiet country roads.

Pampelonne:
Beautiful long sandy beach southeast of St. Tropez.
