This sign is merely a guide for ships coming from Oldenburg via the Küstenkanal...starboard leads to Emden, and port to Münster-Dortmund.

The Küstenkanal does cross the Dortmund-Ems Canal, but not in the form of a classic waterway intersection with a bridge over another navigable waterway. Instead, it flows into the Dortmund-Ems Canal.

Therefore, the phrase "Ems-Küstenkanal waterway intersection" is misleading. The Küstenkanal is a connection that links the Dortmund-Ems Canal and the Hunte, but not an independent waterway intersection.

The Ems cycle path from Dollart to Lathen is very worthwhile. It offers a lot of impressions. We had the disadvantage that we almost only had a headwind with gusts of up to 70 km/h.
