Kirchdorf in Tirol is a municipality with 3975 inhabitants in the Kitzbühel district in Tyrol (Austria).
In the Kitzbühel area, Kischdorf is spoken in the dialect.
Kirchdorf was already settled in prehistoric times, but there were never permanent settlement activities. The first documentary mention as "Chirichdorf" was in the tradition book of Kloster Tegernsee in the years 1107 / 13-1121. [3] Kirchdorf takes its name from the church, which is one of the oldest in the district. As early as the late 2nd and early 3rd centuries AD, a Roman villa stood on the site of today's church.
