Cykling
Even from a distance, the monumental Renaissance building with its striking towers is clearly visible. Built in the 17th century, it was used by the Archbishops of Mainz as a secondary residence. However, the original plant is likely to be much older, estimated to date from the 14th century. There are many stories about the castle, among others, the Swedish king Gustav Adolf intended to have the castle dismantled and to have it rebuilt in Sweden.
Today it houses a museum and a restaurant, the chateau wine taverns.

Vandring
Even from a distance, the Johannisburg Palace proves to be a Renaissance building with striking towers. A tour of the castle is definitely recommended. The view of the Main is also breathtaking and unforgettable.
