The airfield has been operated by the Neumünster Aviation Club for 70 years.
It offers aviation sports in the areas of gliding, motor flying and model flying.
Once a year (usually August/September) the airfield festival for the whole family takes place on a weekend.
In addition to learning aviation, there is also the possibility of guest flights.

Safe and accident-free model aircraft operations must be ensured by observing the following regulations:
The club's obligations include ensuring safe flight operations.
In principle, only pilots who can prove that they have taken out model aircraft liability insurance with the DMFV or DAEC may participate in model aircraft operations.
The first full member must inform the Neumünster airfield flight control (Tel.: 04321 / 62256) of the start of flight operations. If there are three or more pilots, an adult flight director must be appointed, who will be in the flight director's office.
