An ancient volcano located between Cap d'Agde and Agde, Mont Saint-Loup peaks at 113 meters. Dating back 750,000 years, it has shaped the landscape with islets, coves, beaches, and cliffs, while giving Agde its distinct character with monuments in iridescent gray basalt. It offers a spectacular panorama of the coastline and the hinterland from its summit, accessible by green paths rich in Mediterranean fauna and flora, preserved from car traffic.

Mont Saint-Loop is accessible via easy-to-walk paths. From the summit, you have a magnificent panorama of Cap d'Agde, the sea, the ponds near Marseillan and all the way to Agde.
Mont Saint-Loup is 113 m high and covers an area of about 15 km². This former volcano erupted 750,000 years ago. It gave the town of Agde its shimmering grey colour and its basalt monuments. Located at the southern tip of the Auvergne volcanic chain, the mountain cut the coast by forming small islands, coves, beaches and rocks - unique landscapes with contrasting colours that enclose a lush underwater world.
