If you drive past the Ems behind Leerort behind the Ostfriesenhof, you will pass this highlight, which is a bit difficult to recognize. Looking towards the Ems, you only find a few mounds of earth and the view of the Leda estuary into the Ems.
In fact, a late medieval river castle stood here, which the Hamburg Hanseatic League had built to secure its traffic routes.
