A characteristic sight for Nieuwpoort is the presence of the many sailing yachts. These have their permanent place in one of the three yacht clubs. With more than 2000 berths, Nieuwpoort is the largest pleasure harbor in Northern Europe. The three clubs each offer a wide range of activities, sailing courses and sailing lessons. Those who prefer to stay on dry land are welcome in one of their clubhouses. These all have a beautiful terrace overlooking the harbor.

Continue your walk or bike ride by ferry from one side of the Havengeul to the other.
The ferry 'De Nieuwe Visie' takes you from the right bank of the Yser River to the promenade in Nieuwpoort, but the ride itself is quite an experience. You can enjoy the salty sea air and beautiful views as the boat takes you to your destination.
Fun fact: the ferry was designed by Belgian artist Roger Raveel.
The ferry service is completely free.
