Vandring
Very beautiful old town - with many restaurants around the small market square. Very crowded on weekends. Still a gem in the Eifel that you must have seen.

Cykling
Worth a visit is the historic mustard mill in 1882. Between old millstones mustard is still produced by hand in a cold way. There are spicy varieties like emperor mustard, green pepper or chili, sweet mustard (honey poppy, fig, Riesling or tomato) and also fruity (lime, orange, currant). A visit is possible for individuals on Wednesdays and Fridays at 11am and 2pm (from March to October). Groups from 12 people by arrangement.

Vandring
The market square is usually furnished with outdoor seating by restaurants and cafes, unless an event is taking place in Monschau. In the 19th century, particularly after a fire in 1876, the square underwent a transformation, evolving into the central urban hub that visitors experience today. Most of the surrounding buildings date from the 17th and 18th centuries, allowing the market square to largely retain its historical appearance and the character of past centuries.
