In 1875/77, near Schillig, in the municipality of Wangerland, a 23 meter high lighthouse was built by the Borsig Berlin company, which was replaced in 1961 by the conspicuous yellow concrete column (height 35 m) with a round yellow lantern and a flat cover with a protruding collar became. The operating time was from 1961 to 1987.

In the vicinity of Schillig, in the community of Wangerland, a 23 meter high lighthouse was built in 1875/77 by the company Borsig Berlin, which was replaced in 1961 by the striking yellow concrete pillar with round yellow lantern and flat lid with protruding collar. Together with the standing on the adjacent campsite Unterfeuer he formed a directional fire. The lighthouse essentially corresponds to the upper fire of Voslapp and Tossens.

Today, the lighthouse is out of service and serves only as a radar and antenna tower.
