About 100 years ago, a small artist colony settled on the picturesque Schwielowsee. In Ferch, their works are today exhibited in a beautifully restored half-timbered house. In winter, the museum is open on weekends and in summer from Wednesday to Sunday.

The small town on Schwielowsee is considered a "Margraviate of painters' village". Ferch was already well-known among artists and art lovers at the end of the 19th century.
