Mayfield and Five Ashes is a parish of two villages in the High Weald of East Sussex. The historic villages have witnessed their fair share of drama over the centuries: from being the centre of the Wealdon iron industry to brandy and silk smuggling, and the site of local Robin Hood gangs to the place where protestants were condemned for the Gunpowder Plot on 23 September 1556.

Today, the calm village has a lively community spirit with various carnivals and events held throughout the year. You can find out more information, here: visitsoutheastengland.com/places-to-visit/mayfield-p279751
