the Sint Jacobskerk was built in the period 1308 - 1328. The church was enlarged around 1500 with a cruciform church and enlarged again in 1558.
In 1911, the church and tower were largely destroyed by fire. Reconstruction was completed in 1915. In 1954 the church was restored due to the heavy war damage of 1944.
The last restoration was carried out in 1998. The tower is not owned by the church, but the city of Vlissingen owns it.
