During this long period as an economic and administrative unit (especially as a convent for noblewomen), various officials held positions, including the Master of the Kitchen. This was not simply a kitchen worker, but rather a kind of administrative director or manager of the entire Malchow Monastery estate. He was responsible for:
- providing food for the nuns and staff,
- managing the extensive agricultural holdings, mills, fishing rights, and workshops,
- organizing the storage of provisions and the maintenance of the farm buildings.
