This is the spot where King Mufasa – Simba's father – was pushed to his death by Scar after trying to save his son.
Unfortunately, after filming the live-action version of "The Lion King," the film crew simply left all the anchor points for the camera cranes in the rock face – and the Maasai lack the money and the expertise to remove them (the anchors are still visible on the plateau before the precipice on the northern cliff face – see photo).
