When it was built in 1958, this was the world's largest spherical gas tank - today still Germany. With a volume of 55,000 m³, the tank holds a maximum of 270,000 m³ of natural gas, which is stored under high pressure.

The spherical gas container in the Vohwinkel district is visible from afar. Was considered the largest spherical glass container in the world in the 1980s and was even listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
