From the Brühl Terrace, also called the “Balcony of Europe”, you have a picturesque view of Dresden and the Elbe winding through the city. A monument commemorates Caspar David Friedrich, who worked as an associate professor at the neighboring and highly respected art academy. The monument is based on the painting “Caspar David Friedrich in his studio” by Georg Friedrich Kerstings.
