Of the four outer gates of the walled enclosure of the Alhambra, the most monumental is La Puerta de la Justicia, built in 1348. The Gate of Justice, also known as the Gate of the Law in Arab times, Bib-Xarea, was built by Yusuf I in 1348. However, it seems that its real name was Bib-Xaria, Puerta de la Explanada which referred to to the space in front of it.
