The Heilig-Kreuz-Münster has been the main Catholic church of the city of Rottweil since the early 15th century, before that it was a branch of the mother church in the old town, the basilica of St. Pelagius.
The Monument Foundation Baden-Württemberg named the church Monument of the Month in March 2018.
