Vandring
The imposing Niederwald Monument is located above the town of Rüdesheim. The monument commemorates the unification of Germany in 1871. The construction of the monument took six years. The Niederwald Monument has a total height of 38.18 meters and weighs 75 tons. The main figure, which is 12.5 meters high, shows the warrior Germania. The fantastic view from here should not go unmentioned.

In the 18th century, more precisely in 1788, Karl Maximilian Graf von Ostein had a monopteros built on the Niederwald above Rüdesheim am Rhein, which became part of his newly created park. Even then, his often important guests were enthusiastic about the grandiose view of the Rheingau with its impressive river - the Rhine.
Even today, the view from the Niederwald temple conveys pure Rhine romance. The magnificent view to the south shows the Rhine Valley in its grandeur and uniqueness in every season.
