It leads in a west-east direction from Fulda in East Hesse over the eponymous mountain Milseburg to Meiningen in southern Thuringia.
The Milseburgweg bears the seal of the German Hiking Association "Quality Trail Wanderable Germany".
The carrier of the Milseburgweg with the designation HWO3 is the hiking and homeland association "Rhönklub".

Vandring
From Herpf, it continues over the Träbeser Loch and up the ski slope to the Hohe Geba.
A challenging trail, poorly signposted in places.
It connects to the RR trail at the Hohe Geba and follows it.
The destination is the Milseburg, not far from the Wasserkuppe (Hesse's highest mountain).
