Horse races were already being held in Karlshorst in 1862. The actual Karlshorst racecourse was built at the end of the 19th century. The Steeplechase Association had purchased the land from the estate owner von Treskow. The racecourse was opened on May 9, 1894.
After German reunification, the land was put up for sale. Residential buildings were constructed on part of it, while another part was operated by the Berlin-Karlshorst Equestrian Park Association.
Since 2019, the site has housed an equestrian sports and riding therapy center.
