This renovated building, which now houses the National and University Library (NUB), named after the writer Derviš Sušić, was once home to the Children's Hospital, where I, as a five-year-old boy, was treated for a long time. Some memories remain indelible to this day.

The NUB also houses the Austrian Library. The Austrian Library has been operational since 1997 thanks to joint investments and efforts by the library, the Municipality of Tuzla, the Canton of Tuzla, and the Government of the Republic of Austria.
