    The monastery Rheinau is a former Benedictine abbey on a Rhine island in the municipality Rheinau. The island is definitely worth a short detour. The view on the Rhine is picturesque and the monastery buildings are very beautiful. In addition to the monastery church, there is a smaller chapel.

    Rheinau Monastery is a former Benedictine abbey on the Rhine Island in the municipality of Rheinau. It was founded around 778 and closed in 1862. Today, the former monastery building is used by the Spiritual Way Community and the Music Center "Musikinsel Rheinau", and the monastery church is used by the Catholic parish of Rheinau.
    The monastery church can be visited: in April & May only in the afternoon, from June to September in the morning and afternoon.
