Located between the two lakes, the structure is dated between the 11th and 12th centuries, by the Basilians. With the arrival of the Normans, the Basilians abandoned the Vulture and the Benedictines arrived in their place. They transformed the ancient Basilian monastery of Sant'Ippolito into another Benedictine abbey.
