Fort aan de Klop was built between 1850 and 1852. During that period, the fort served to protect the Klopvaart flood canal and the lock. After the construction of the Work at Maarsseveen, this function became redundant and the fort was used as a storage and supply post and defense work. The fort took its current shape in 1850.

Great excursion restaurant at the former fort, lots of space, good for a coffee or a beer or cocktail in the evening.

Vandring
Fort aan de Klop is part of the New Dutch Waterline. The fort was built between 1850 and 1852. Nowadays you can go to the guardhouse for a nice snack and drink in a unique location.
