    In 1976, archaeologists made an astounding discovery of houses, workshops and backyards dating back to the Viking age. They found the Viking city of Jorvik which stood almost 1,000 years ago. The Jorvik Viking Centre lets you walk the streets of a Viking city as it would have been in the 10th century. The centre is open from 10am - 5pm daily. Admission costs £12.50 per adult.     A fully reconstructed Viking village complete with the sights and smells, and an adjoining museum
    depicting the Viking Life. They have recreated the Viking Village with life like mannequins. It's a great interactive museum for kids. The staff all dress up in Viking costumes and play the role. They are very knowledgeable and answer all the questions. The kids truly enjoyed this experience. The entire atmosphere makes you feel like you are strolling through a Viking Village. The exhibits are detailed and life like. The sights, sounds and smell are all very well recreated. Great place to take the kids.
