Chnuschper-Hüsli, Buchenegg
28 years ago, Edith and Julius Eltschinger converted an old farm with an old homestead into a Chnuschper-Hüsli. At the beginning, the Chnuschper witch lived there for many years and played jokes with the guests. Later, the cleaning lady Franca made the guests laugh with her happy songs and a few years later the topic of Max & Moritz was introduced with the 7 pranks. The artist Ron transformed the Chnuschper-Hüsli into the fairy tale of Max and Moritz based on Wilhelm Busch.

During the day there is a great view of Zurich and Lake Zurich and in the evening there are brilliant Mischttratzerli (house chicks) in the Chörbli. Wow, incredibly tasty.

The Iconic Buchenegg Pass Near Zürich. The approach from the North (Zürich side) is a nice comfortable of an average of 9% with several sections having 12-14% but only for a short distance. The asphalt is in excellent condition. The South side (Reppischtal) is currently at this time of writing (08.2025) under construction. If one is making a descent on the South side, definitely stop at the construction site stop light as it is a big long. Otherwise the pavement is of a smooth asphalted surface.
