The small town of Gravelines is a well-preserved fortified artificial island surrounded by walls and a water-filled moat. At its western tip is the oldest protected arsenal castle, now serving as a museum of design and original prints. Entered the garden free.

The Arsenal: This 16th-century building was originally a fortified enclosure used to store weapons and ammunition and to house the garrison.

On the one hand it houses the music academy. On the other hand, many rooms for events of all kinds (exhibitions, concerts, weddings, banquets, etc.).
