Podrosche lies on a Neisse bend and has a bridge over to Poland. If you read up on Wikipedia, you will learn a lot about the eventful history of this place, including the Germanization of the Sorbs. Until 1947 this place was called Grenzkirch.

Cykling

The border church, which was to give the place its name during the National Socialist era, was inaugurated in 1690. The octagonal half-timbered church with attached tower lost its importance after 1740, when the Prussian King Friedrich II guaranteed the Silesian Protestants their freedom of belief and as a result a Protestant church was built again in Priebus.

The hill on which the round church stands, once raised by human hands, is a royal tomb. It is believed that it is a tomb of a Wendish tribal chief.

At the top in front of the church gate there is a bench where you can linger. There is also a rest area downstairs, right on the bike path. But it's nicer upstairs!
