The Sacred Heart Church was built in 1928 and 1929 by the Stuttgart architect Otto Lindner as an unusual elliptical central structure clad in concrete with natural stone. Due to severe damage during World War II, the church's artistic furnishings were almost completely lost. From 1948 to 1949, the church was rebuilt according to modified plans by the same architect. In 1951, the church received a three-part bell system.
