The lovingly designed small museum in Nexø was opened in 1990 and offers visitors an insight into the modest living conditions of the young writer. In addition, his most important works are presented, with the book "Pelle the Conqueror", which bears autobiographical traits and whose film was awarded in 1988 with an Oscar and a "Golden Palm", has a special meaning.

The museum is open for visitors from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 16:00.

Vandring
Martin Andersen Nexö (1869-1945), a poet known far beyond Bornholm, spent his childhood in this house. It has been a museum since 1990. Nexö's main work is the novel "Pelle the Conqueror," which has also been made into a film. Shortly before his death, Nexö emigrated to East Germany. He was a member of the Communist Party and considered a worker writer. The novel was also made into a film, but due to copyright issues, it wasn't made until 1987. It starred Max von Sydow, among others.
