Giuseppe Pizzigoni Architect (Bergamo 1901 - 1967), between 1961 and 1965 created the project for an incredible harmoniously shaped reinforced concrete church in the new suburb of Longuelo, in Bergamo.

Pizzigoni creates a church with a central plan whose shape comes from the aggregation of four statically autonomous volumes, each supported by five thin reinforced concrete vaults, only 6 centimeters thick.
The structure is complex: of these five vaults, in fact, four have a double curvature, while the fifth covers the central nodes and as a whole they design a tensile structure that recalls the image of the sail or, symbolically, the biblical tent of Moses.

50 years after its consecration, the church, already partially restored in the mid-1980s, presented serious problems of deterioration of the concrete.
The restoration intervention between 2011 and 2014, designed by Paolo Belloni with the advice of Eng. Luigi Coppola represents a significant example of "Restoration of the Modern" with particular reference to the theme of the restoration of concrete which, due to the particular thinness of the structures, can be considered an extreme case of intervention on this material.
