Lake Nasser in southern Egypt is also called the Aswan Dam or Lake Nubia. The lake stretches from the desert region of Lower Nubia to the northern part of Sudan. Artificially created by dams and high dams, Lake Nasser today has approximately 500 kilometers of shoreline, a width of 5 to 35 kilometers, and covers an area of over 5,000 square kilometers. With a maximum depth of 180 meters, Lake Nasser is one of the largest reservoirs in the world.
