The castle is not open to the public, but the Aare is. The Pontonierhaus is right across the street. From here you can run up the river and let yourself drift. The pontoon house has a great place (ladder) where you can get out easily.

With the descent from Bannwil down, it can be easily integrated into the traffic. No bike path of its own and a lot of traffic. Beware of the bridge, it often jams. After the bridge, however, you can turn right again directly over the railway tracks onto the cycle path.
