Vandring
The chapter house, built in the 13th century and extensively modified in the 18th century, was the daily meeting place of the community. It was also the place where all violations of the rules of the community were judged. Incidentally, this is where the verb ‘kapittelen’ (to reprimand someone severely) comes from. Originally, this room was supported by four columns. There remains a double window dating from the Romanesque period. This is the oldest architectural element in perfect condition of the abbey.
