The Edersee is located in the nature park Kellerwald-Edersee and is the 3 largest reservoir in Germany, 2Excursion boats sail the lake, several campsites are located around the lake, the construction period was 1908-1914, the villages Asel-Berich and Bringhausen were flooded, at low tide you can still see individual foundations.

Beautiful bike path along the lake, the best time to ride early in the morning is almost alone.

The Edersee is always worth a (bike) trip.
In spring the lake is full to the brim and is also a paradise for water sports enthusiasts.
In late summer the lake almost dried up in dry years,
On the now dry lake bottom you can go on long hikes and visit the foundations of sunken villages.
The Asel bridge, which is otherwise 15 m below the surface of the lake, is again a bridge that leads over the Eder.
