Mountainbiking

The Fichtelberg is the highest mountain in Saxony. At 1,214 meters, it is also one of the highest German low mountain ranges. There are all sorts of activities for you up here. After the strenuous ascent you can relax in the Fichtelberghaus. There was already a restaurant up here in 1888. A fire destroyed the original building. A new building was constructed in the 1960s and remodeled in 1999. From the 30 meter high tower you have a great view of the entire Ore Mountains. By the way, you can also stay overnight here. hotel-fichtelberghaus.de

Vandring

At 1,215 meters, the Fichtelberg is the highest mountain in the new federal states. The panoramic view from him is stunning. It extends over the Ore Mountains into the Bohemian Basin. The weather station belongs to the German Weather Service. It has been digitized and is no longer constantly staffed. It is a structure clad in wood and fits beautifully into the ridge location.

Mountainbiking

To climb the Fichtelberg with the road bike, offers the 15km long driveway from Rittersgrün. On this 599 Hm must be overcome in irregular gradients. The driveway of Oberwiesenthal on the B95 is quite monotonous and therefore more suitable for driving off.
