If you enjoy uphill riding, there's hardly a better way in Switzerland to pack in so many meters of elevation in one climb. On this variant from Chippis to the Barrage de Moiry, you'll break the 2,000-meter elevation gain mark.
From the valley floor in the Rhône Valley, you first ascend to Vercorin, where the elevation profile flattens out before descending again to Grimentz. Rested, you'll tackle the second part of the climb there. You'll finally reach the finish line at 2,250 meters after a short tunnel.
