Railway town where the Alentejo Line divides between the Beja Line and the Évora Line. In the past, it had train and carriage repair shops and so the old Railway District had many houses, but is currently in ruins... There is a small tavern that serves meals, except on Sundays...
Currently, there is an effort to restore the abandoned houses and Casa Branca has been welcoming new residents, due to the easy access to cities such as Évora, Beja, Pinhal Novo, Barreiro, Setúbal or even Lisbon, via the trains that make an obligatory stop here...
