The Queen of the Mountains, as Mount Rigi is also called, can be climbed in any way, even by road bike. This route from Goldau is truly challenging.
The road is steep throughout, but the toughest climb comes at the end. From Rigi Staffel, you share the path with other summiteers on foot, and the little train runs right next to it. The view over Lake Lucerne makes up for the effort.
