The monastery Elisabethenzell, also called monastery "Einsiedel", can look back on a long history. It existed already at the beginning of the 13th century. Of the buildings had not received any more overtime day. In order to trace the history of this once so important facility, numerous representatives of the surrounding communities and interested citizens came together in the spring of 2011 to found the "Einsiedel Abbey" working group. A survey carried out in the same year by a ground radar provided initial information about what was to be expected under the forest floor.

On a beautiful large clearing in the forest life is shown in the monastery on the basis of information boards for young and old. A nice place to rest. Seating is available.
